5 amazing copycat recipes that you can make at home! Plus, they taste just as good – if not better – than the original!
Don’t you just love copycat recipes? I think they’re awesome because you can make your favorite take-out meals at home at a fraction of the cost! Plus, by making them yourself, you know exactly what’s inside them – no more sneaky ingredients with names you can’t pronounce!
My favorite copycat recipes are almost always Asian food. Lo mein, noodle bowls, egg rolls, you name it! Though I also love pizza – lots and LOTS of pizza!
So for the past couple of years, I have been trying lots of great copycat recipes – as well as coming up with a few of my own! But there are so many types of great copycat recipes out there that it can be hard to pick favorites…
And as hard as it was to choose, I managed to come up with a list of my 5 favorite copycat recipes. These recipes are all SO incredibly delicious! Plus, they’re all just as good (if not better) than the original. And dare I say it – probably healthier for you too!
So, it’s a win-win-win!!
1. Texas Roadhouse Copycat Rolls
I LOVE Texas Roadhouse rolls so much! I could literally eat at least 6 of these! Not that I *cough* have ever done such a thing.
I was craving these rolls SO bad… and then I found this recipe from Damn Delicious. And now this is my all-time favorite copycat recipe! I make a double recipe of this every few weeks or so – it’s now a staple in our house.
I think the coolest thing about these rolls (aside from their amazing flavor) is that they are so easy to split in half! You know how English muffins are supposed to split in half easily, but they never seem to? These rolls actually do!
You can find the full recipe here.
Plus, if you manage to have any leftovers, these rolls make incredible sandwiches! Just split them, toast them, and then fill them. And there you have it! An absolutely amazing and easy lunch option!
2. Teriyaki Chicken Noodle Bowls
Now, this is my go-to comfort food! I have made this recipe SO many times – and it somehow tastes better every single time!
I just love recipes that go the extra mile for flavor! With this recipe, you make your own homemade teriyaki sauce (which is sooo much better than the store-bought version!) and marinate the chicken for extra flavor. This recipe was created over at Damn Delicious – which is a pretty awesome food blog!
I’ve tweaked this recipe over time to get it exactly as my family likes it – so feel free to try out the original recipe here, or my version…
3. Zinburger Copycat Nutella Milkshake
For all my fellow Nutella addicts, I give you… my copycat Nutella milkshake! This milkshake is out-of-this-world AMAZING! It literally tastes like you’re drinking Nutella through a straw. So, yes – it is chocolate heaven!
I will warn you though – this delicious milkshake is very rich. So, you might want to limit yourself to one, if you have that much self-restraint. You can find the full recipe here.
4. Slow Cooker Korean Beef
My mom has always LOVED Korean beef recipes/take-out. So you can imagine how excited I was to find this amazing recipe from the creative gal over at Damn Delicious!
I made this for my mom’s birthday a few years back and we have been in love with it ever since! It is ridiculously easy! Just throw it in the crockpot and let it do its thing!
Cooking doesn’t get any easier than this!
Because of how easy this recipe is, it is perfect for those busy weeknights. So you can go about your busy schedule knowing that dinner is cooking itself! You can find the full recipe here.
5. Easy Lo Mein
I LOVE this lo mein recipe! It’s simple and pretty fast to throw together. Plus, it tastes absolutely amazing!
I’m always shocked at how many vegetables this recipe calls for – and yet, nobody seems to notice! If you have picky eaters that aren’t crazy about eating their veggies, then you need to give this recipe a try! It’s the perfect way to sneak in their veggies without them knowing.
Well, there you have it! 5 copycat recipes that are so amazingly delicious! We had…
